Service information

The Port provides regulatory oversight, coordination, clearance, monitoring, and escort services for the safe handling of Dangerous Goods (DG) within the port and its approaches.

The service covers

Review and processing of Dangerous Goods declarations
Pre-arrival notification and clearance
Verification of cargo classification and documentation
Inspection of dangerous goods consignments
Coordination with terminal operators, shipping agents, consignees, and relevant authorities
Escort of designated dangerous goods cargoes
Monitoring of loading, discharge, delivery, and removal operations
Overnight and special operational supervision, where required
Emergency response coordination for dangerous goods incidents
Investigation and reporting of dangerous goods violations or incidents

These services are designed to ensure that all dangerous goods entering, leaving, stored, loaded, discharged, or transported through the port comply with applicable national regulations, port requirements, and relevant international conventions and codes, including the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code.

Dangerous Goods Service Procedure

Follow the six-stage process from advance notification and document submission through operational clearance, inspection or escort, and completion reporting.

Advance Notification

The shipping agent, consignee, or authorized representative shall submit a Dangerous Goods notification and relevant documentation to the Port State Coordination Department within the prescribed notification period before the arrival or handling of the cargo.
