Port States Coordination
Supports coordination of port-state, maritime-safety and environmental compliance matters that affect vessels and port operations. The function works with relevant national authorities and port stakeholders to strengthen safe, compliant and environmentally responsible operations.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate NPA participation in port-state, maritime-safety and environmental compliance activities.
- Support vessel and port-facility compliance reviews in coordination with competent maritime authorities.
- Track safety, pollution-prevention and hazardous-cargo issues requiring inter-agency action.
- Facilitate information exchange with maritime, customs, immigration, security and environmental institutions.
- Support follow-up on inspection findings, corrective actions and international maritime compliance requirements.
- Maintain coordination records and prepare compliance briefs for management and relevant operational units.
