FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Monrovia, Liberia | April 20, 2026

President Boakai awards NPA for high-level performance in 2025 PMCS appraisal cycle.

His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has awarded the National Port Authority of Liberia (NPA) for achieving high-level performance in the 2025 cycle of the Government of Liberia’s Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS).

The ceremony was held at the E.J. Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Monrovia, where the President awarded about thirty-one Ministries and Agencies including the NPA for distinguishing themselves across the PMCS’s five priority areas: institutional Strategic Plan development aligned with the ARREST Agenda, Service Delivery Charter Implementation, Resource Mobilization, Systems Efficiency Improvement, and Institutional Capacity Building.

The recognition of NPA is a direct reflection of the disciplined and results-driven leadership of Managing Director Hon. Sekou A.M. Dukuly, whose administration has anchored the Authority’s operations in the principles of accountability, transparency, and service excellence enshrined in the RESET Strategic Plan 2025 to 2030. Under his stewardship, the NPA met all institutional obligations prescribed by the PMCS framework at 95.2% and successfully completed independent performance appraisals and subjected the Authority’s record to the rigorous multi-level quality assurance process that characterized the 2025 cycle.

Speaking to reporters at the end of the program, NPA Managing Director Hon. Sekou A. M. Dukuly expressed profound gratitude to President His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. for the recognition and praised the management team at NPA for their tireless efforts aimed at ensuring that entity will never be the same.

As the NPA now enters the 2026 PMCS performance cycle with new institutional targets signed with His Excellency the President, this recognition serves as both a validation of the work already done and a charge to press even further in service to the Liberian people and the maritime gateway, they depend upon.
